Schedule

Day 1: We depart our local area and make our way to The Metropole Hotel & Spa in LLandrindod Wells stopping enroute for comfort and refreshment stops before arriving at the hotel in time for our evening meal.

Day 2: After breakfast we depart our hotel and make our way to the Spectacular Elan Valley sometimes known as the “Welsh Lake District” for a guided tour of the 70 square miles of dams, reservoirs and rugged Welsh landscape finishing at the Elan Visitor Centre set in a fantastic location against a spectacular backdrop of a Victorian Stone dam. Here we will be able to enjoy a cup of coffee or a spot of lunch in the café or purchase a few souvenirs in the gift shop. After our time in the Elan Valley we return back to our hotel to enjoy a free afternoon in Llandrindod Wells before our evening meal.

Day 3: After breakfast we depart our hotel and make our way to the beautiful town of Aberystwyth, nestled between the Cambrian Mountains and Cardigan Bay it provides a rugged landscape of rolling hills, valleys, sand and sea. Here we will have some free time to explore before boarding our historic narrow-gauge steam railway for an unforgettable twelve mile journey from Aberystwyth to Devil’s Bridge travelling up 700ft through some of Wales most spectacular scenery. After our time spent on the narrow-gauge we make our way back to our hotel arriving in time to refresh before our evening meal.

Day 4: After breakfast we depart our hotel and make our way to the pretty town of Hay-on-Wye, with over twenty bookshops it is often described as a “town of books” and the site of the annual Hay Festival. Here we will have a brief visit before we continue our journey to board our canal for a delightful few hours of cruising through the Brecon Beacons National Park and taking in some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain whilst enjoying a delicious buffet lunch. After our relaxing cruise we return back to our hotel in plenty of time to refresh before enjoying our evening meal.

Day 5: After breakfast we sadly say goodbye to the The Metropole Hotel with fond memories of our time in Wales and make our way back to our local area stopping enroute for comfort and refreshment stops.
