After breakfast we depart our hotel for a full day of delving into Christmases past from the Georgian period to the 1950’s with a truly traditional Christmas at Beamish Museum. Indulge in roasted chestnuts, mulled wine and entertainment in the beautifully decorated museum, wander around stalls in the 1900s town and have fun with the traditional crafts and activities throughout the day. After our fun packed day we return back to our hotel arriving in time to refresh before enjoying our evening meal.

After breakfast we depart our hotel and make our way to the majestic North East City of Durham where we will have the day to explore the many magnificent attractions this historic treasure trove has to offer. Take a visit to the grand Norman-era Durham Cathedral (which played a role in the Harry Potter movies) or explore the nearby fairytale turreted castle and living museums radiating industrial heritage but the fun doesn’t stop there if you love a spot of retail therapy stroll through the historic streets of the city where you will find high street favourites alongside independent shops, boutiques and quirky craft shops. After our time in Durham we make our way back to our hotel arriving in time to refresh before enjoying our evening meal.
