This year we are offering something a little different so come and join us and enjoy the Christmas Spirit by stepping back in time with the festivities at Beamish Museum and be dazzled by the stunning light trail at Alnwick Garden. Time in the majestic city of Durham and free time to explore the largest city in the UK – Newcastle adds to the excitement of this tour.

Schedule
Day 1: We depart our local area and make our way to the Holiday Inn Newcastle Gosforth Park stopping enroute for refreshment and comfort stops before arriving at our hotel in plenty of time for our evening meal.
Day 2: After breakfast we make our way to Newcastle where we will have ample time to explore one of the largest Cities in the UK. From culture-ridden museums to spectacular cathedrals and a vast array of shops to choose from this prestigious city offers plenty for everyone to enjoy. After our time in Newcastle and the dusk begins to fall we then make or way to Alnwick Garden to admire the beautiful Winter Light Trail. Sparkling and shimmering illuminations light up the gardens in a stunning sound and light extravaganza. After being dazzled by the beauty of the fantastic light trail we return back to our hotel to enjoy our evening meal.
Day 3: After breakfast we depart our hotel for a full day of delving into Christmases past from the Georgian period to the 1950’s with a truly traditional Christmas at Beamish Museum. Indulge in roasted chestnuts, mulled wine and entertainment in the beautifully decorated museum, wander around stalls in the 1900s town and have fun with the traditional crafts and activities throughout the day. After our fun packed day we return back to our hotel arriving in time to refresh before enjoying our evening meal.
Day 4: After breakfast we depart our hotel and make our way to the majestic North East City of Durham where we will have the day to explore the many magnificent attractions this historic treasure trove has to offer. Take a visit to the grand Norman-era Durham Cathedral (which played a role in the Harry Potter movies) or explore the nearby fairytale turreted castle and living museums radiating industrial heritage but the fun doesn’t stop there if you love a spot of retail therapy stroll through the historic streets of the city where you will find high street favourites alongside independent shops, boutiques and quirky craft shops. After our time in Durham we make our way back to our hotel arriving in time to refresh before enjoying our evening meal.
Day 5: After breakfast we depart our hotel with magical festive memories of the many places we have visited and make our way back to our local area stopping enroute for comfort and refreshment stops.
