Schedule

Day 1: We depart our local area and make our way to The Portbyhan Hotel in West Looe, stopping en route for comfort and refreshment stops, and arriving at our hotel in plenty of time to refresh before our evening meal.

Day 2: After breakfast, we depart our hotel and make our way to Port Isaac, a traditional fishing town also known as Port Wenn – the home to the TV series Doc Martin. Here we will have free time to spot where some of the scenes were filmed, such as Doctor Ellingham’s House, Mrs Tishell’s chemist, and Bert’s restaurant, or take a walk down one of the narrowest alleyways in the UK, known both as Temple Bar and Squeezy Belly Alley, with the narrowest point being only 18 inches wide. After our time in Port Isaac, we continue our journey onto the pretty seaside town of Padstow, known for the quality of its food and dining and being Rick Stein’s first restaurant destination. After our free time in Padstow, we return back to our hotel, arriving in time to enjoy our evening meal.

Day 3: After breakfast, we depart our hotel and make our way to Mevagissey, a typical picturesque postcard-style village. Here we will have free time to enjoy the cafés, galleries, and shops that line the harbour walls. After our free time, we return back to our hotel, arriving in plenty of time to refresh before our evening meal.

Day 4: After breakfast, we will have a free day to explore West Looe. Take a visit to the 16th-century Jolly Sailor Inn or St. Nicholas Church. If brave enough, explore the rock pools on the beach and look across to St. George’s – or Looe Island, known for its 12th-century monastic cells. After our free time, we will have ample time to relax before enjoying our evening meal.

Day 5: After breakfast, we sadly depart The Portbyhan Hotel with fond memories of our time in West Looe and make our way back to our local area, stopping en route for comfort and refreshment stops.
