Schedule

Day 1: Depart our local area and make our way to Pembroke to board our ferry over to Rosslare, Southern Ireland stopping enroute for comfort and refreshment stops. Once we arrive in Rosslare we make our way to the Brandon House Hotel in New Ross arriving in time for our evening meal.

Day 2: After breakfast we depart the Brandon House Hotel and make our way to the bustling town of Athlone home to the medieval Athlone Castle and one of the oldest pubs in Ireland – Sean’s Bar where we will have ample time to explore and have a spot of lunch. After our lunch time stop we then continue our journey onto “The Shed Distillery” at Drumshanbo where we will enjoy a guided tour of the distillery, a Gin and Whisky tasting experience and time to enjoy a refreshment in the Distillery Café. After our free time in the Distillery we then make our way to our hotel arriving in time to enjoy our evening meal.

Day 3: After breakfast we depart our hotel and make a short walk to board our waterbus in Donegal for a fantastic sightseeing tour taking in The Old Abbey, Ballyboyle Island, The Coastguard Station, The Island of St Ernans and many more points of interest all pointed out by your onboard guide. On your return leg you will be entertained by an onboard sing-a-long music cabaret and a drink from the fully stocked bar if you wish (drinks extra). Once back in the harbour you will have free time to explore the historic town of Donegal or even take a visit to the Castle or Donegal Abbey. After your free time you will have plenty of time to refresh before enjoying our evening meal.

Day 4: After breakfast we make our way to one of Irelands best kept secret, Irelands highest Sea Cliffs – Sliabh Liag. Be prepared to be dazzled by the stunning panoramic view across Donegal Bay! We then continue our journey to Glencolmcille Folk Village – a thatched- roofed replica of a rural village offering a glimpse into daily life as it was during past centuries and how our ancestors lived. Here we will enjoy a nice hearty Vegetable soup and sandwiches whilst listening to some Irish music played by some local musicians. After lunch we then make our way to the heritage town of Ardara for some free time to explore and treat ourselves to a nice afternoon cup of tea and a slice of cake in one of the local tearooms. After our full day of exploring we return back to our hotel arriving in time for our evening meal.

Day 5: After breakfast we make our way to visit Glenveagh National Park situated in the heart of Derryveagh Mountains where you will experience the beautiful wilderness of rugged mountains, pristine lakes, tumbling waterfalls and enchanted native oak woodlands aswell as time to explore Glenveagh Castle, a 19th century castlellated Mansion built between 1867 and 1873. After our time of exploring we make our way to the Croithli Distillery where we will experience whiskey making, hear the story of the distillery’s rich history and have a little whisky tasting session. Afterwards we then return back to our hotel arriving in time to enjoy our evening meal.

Day 6: After breakfast we depart the Abbey Hotel in Donegal and make our way to Belleek Pottery home to one of the oldest working potteries in the world where we will have some free time to browse the many fabulous pieces that is manufactured on site and even purchase a piece or two. After our time in Belleek we make our way to the Lavey Inn in Cavan for a light lunch stop (Lunch not included) before continuing onto our overnight hotel arriving in plenty of time to refresh before our evening meal.

Day 7: We depart our overnight hotel and make our way to board our morning ferry from Dublin. Once on board we will have plenty of time to enjoy some breakfast whilst making our way to Holyhead. Once arrived in Holyhead we disembark our ferry and make our way back to our local area stopping enroute for refreshment and comfort stops.
