Loch Lomond And The Trossachs
11th – 16th June 2023
Taking in the spectacular scenery of the lowlands of Scotland this fantastic 6 day tour includes a full day exploring the beautiful sights of Loch Lomond including a boat cruise on the Loch, a full day exploring the magnificent scenery of the Trossachs National Park, a steam train journey whilst enjoying a tasty cream tea and a visit to the famous landmark “The Falkirk Wheel”. You certainly will see the lowlands of Scotland in all its beauty!
Day 1: Depart our local area and make our way to the King Robert Hotel, Stirling stopping en route for refreshment and comfort stops arriving in time at our hotel for our evening meal.
Day 2: After breakfast we depart our hotel and make our way to The Kelpies, the largest equine sculptures in the world. Standing at 100ft tall and weighing more than 300 tones each the magical Kelpies are a man-made wonder and a feature of engineering. Here we will have free time for a short wander and a chance to take a few photos before we make our way to one of Scotlands famous landmark “The Falkirk Wheel”. Connecting the Forth and Clyde Canals with the Union Canal and the world’s only rotating boat lift of its kind in the world raising 35 metres into the air is certainly an experience not to be missed. Here you will have an opportunity to experience a ride on the rotating boat lift as well as free time to explore before we depart and make our way back to our hotel in time to enjoy our evening meal.
Day 3: After breakfast and a leisurely morning we depart our hotel and make our way to the Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway to board our afternoon steam train for a 10 mile scenic return journey to Manuel along the Forth Estuary, through woodlands, past waterfalls and over the Avon viaduct whilst enjoying an afternoon tea of freshly made sandwiches, cakes and scones with tea and coffee. After our relaxing afternoon we return back to our hotel in time to refresh before enjoying our evening meal.
Day 4: After breakfast we depart our hotel for our full day of exploring Loch Lomond stopping at Antartex Shopping Village for a comfort stop before continuing our journey travelling up the side of Loch Lomond, taking in the route of the popular TV Series “Take the Highroad” before arriving at the pretty village of Luss for our lunchtime stop. After our free time in Luss we continue our journey to Tarbet to catch our boat for a “Northern Highlights” tour, sailing over the deepest part of the Loch in the shadow of Ben Lomond. After our cruise we depart and start to make our way back to the hotel stopping at “Rest and be Thankful” a picturesque view point and Killmahog woollen Mill for a comfort stop before arriving back to our hotel in time for our evening meal.
Day 5: After breakfast we depart our hotel for our tour of the beautiful scenery of the Trossachs National Park, taking us over the famous Dukes Pass and its stunning views and a stop at the picturesque tourist town of Callander. After our visit to Callender we return back to our hotel in plenty of time to refresh before enjoying our evening meal.
Day 6: After breakfast we sadly say a fond farewell to Scotland with some amazing memories of the beauty we have encountered during our tour and make our way back home stopping for refreshment and comfort stops.
