Schedule

Day 1: We depart our local area and make our way to our overnight hotel – The Avonbridge Hotel, Hamilton stopping en route for comfort and refreshment stops and arriving in time to refresh before our evening meal.

Day 2: After breakfast we depart The Avonbridge Hotel and make our way to our main stay hotel stopping enroute at the Trossachs Woollen Mill in Kilmahog for a comfort stop and a chance to say hello to three beautiful Highland Cows – Hamish Dubh, Honey & Holly before moving onto the small village of Killin, where you will be able to take in the spectacular sight of the Falls of Dochart, a series of rapids at the Western end of Loch Tay. Here we will have free time to explore and stop for a spot of lunch before we continue our journey to our hotel in time to refresh before our evening meal.

Day 3: After breakfast we depart our hotel and make our way to one of Scotland’s top locations – The Isle of Skye, famous for its breathtaking scenery and landscapes that will take your breath away. Whilst travelling to the Isle of Skye you will be spoilt by the beauty of the Highlands of Scotland before we cross the Skye Road Bridge and make our way to Portree the colourful capital and welcoming gateway to the Isle of Skye. Here we will have free time to explore this bustling port town and stop for a spot of lunch before we depart and return back to our hotel in time before our evening meal.

Day 4: After breakfast we depart our hotel for our relaxing morning cruise on the Loch Ness. Departing from Fort Augustus the most southern point of the Loch we cruise past Cherry Island the Loch’s only island and the lochside view of the striking Fort Augustus Abbey. After our cruise we then continue our journey onto Kingussie, a beautiful town beside the River Spey in the midst of the stunning Cairngorms National Park. Here we will have free time to explore and stop for a spot of lunch before we make our way to Spean Bridge Woollen Mill for a quick browse and arriving back at our hotel in time to refresh for our evening meal.

Day 5: After breakfast and a leisurely morning we depart our hotel to board our train to enjoy a scenic journey from Fort William to the bustling fishing port of Mallaig overlooking the Sound of Sleat which separates the mainland from the Isle of Skye. Once we have arrived in Mallaig we will have ample time to explore before we board our coach and make our way to the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct, used in two Harry Potter Films when the Hogwarts Express made its way into Glenfinnan. Here we will have some free time for a spectacular photo opportunity before we continue our journey back to our hotel arriving in plenty of time to refresh before our evening meal.

Day 6: After breakfast we sadly say goodbye to The Caledonian Hotel and make our way to our overnight stay at The Avonbridge Hotel stopping at The Green Welly Stop for a quick coffee before continuing our journey down the side of Loch Lomond and stopping at the pretty village of Luss situated on the Western shore of the Loch. Here we will have some free time to explore before making our way to our hotel arriving in plenty of time to refresh before our evening meal.

Day 7: After breakfast we depart The Avonbridge Hotel with fond memories of our visit to the Highlands of Scotland and make our way back to our local area stopping enroute for comfort and refreshment stops.
