Come and capture the beauty by relaxing onboard a steam boat cruise on the lake of Ullswater and enjoy a 14 mile journey on board a narrow gauge steam train aswell as visits to some of the most picturesque towns surrounding the lakes. Schedule

Day 1: We depart our local area and make our way to The Damson Dean Hotel stopping enroute for refreshment and comfort stops arriving in time at our hotel for our evening meal.

Day 2: After breakfast we depart our hotel and make our way to the pretty Lakeland village of Pooley Bridge to board our steam boat for a cruise on one of England’s most beautiful lakes – Ullswater where we will be able to admire some dramatic landscapes that has inspired writers and artists for centuries including the English romantic poet William Wordsorth. After our time cruising the lake we arrive at Glenridding to continue our journey over the Kirkstone Pass where we will be able to admire the spectacular views from the Lake District’s highest pass before arriving at the thriving tourist town of Bowness-on-Windermere situated on the shores of Lake Windermere for some free time to explore. After our time exploring we return back to our hotel arriving in plenty of time to refresh before enjoying our evening meal.

Day 3: After breakfast we depart our hotel and make our way to the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway to board our narrow-gauge steam train for a stunning 14 mile journey. Departing from Ravenglass the only coastal village in the Lake District we travel across the Estuary and through the stunning rolling hills to Dalgarth before enjoying our return journey back to Ravenglass. After our train journey we board our coach and continue our journey to Ulverston the birthplace of Stan Laurel here we will have ample time to wander the cobbled streets, admire the old buildings, visit the world’s only Laurel & Hardy museum and have a spot of lunch before returning back to our hotel arriving in time to refresh before enjoying our evening meal.

Day 4: After breakfast we depart our hotel and make our way to Grasmere the home of William Wordsworth and the famous Sarah Nelson’s Gingerbread shop where we will have some free time to explore, visit William Wordsworth’s grave in the 13th century church or purchase some delicious Gingerbread. After our time in Grasmere we continue our journey to the bustling town of Ambleside for our lunch time stop before making our way to the picturesque town of Hawkeshead to wander through the pretty collection of stone houses and cobblestone streets or enjoy tea and cake in one of the traditional tea rooms. After our time exploring we make our way back to our hotel arriving in time to refresh before our evening meal.

Day 5: After breakfast we sadly say a fond farewell to the beauty of the Lake District and return back to our local area stopping enroute for comfort and refreshment stops.
