Day 2:
After breakfast, we depart our hotel and make our way to The Kelpies, the largest equine sculptures in the world. Standing at 100 feet tall and weighing more than 300 tons each, the magical Kelpies are a man-made wonder and a feat of engineering. Here, we will have free time for a short wander and a chance to take a few photos before we make our way to one of Scotland’s famous landmarks, “The Falkirk Wheel.” Connecting the Forth and Clyde Canals with the Union Canal, the world’s only rotating boat lift of its kind in the world, raising 35 meters into the air, is certainly an experience not to be missed. Here, you will have an opportunity to experience a ride on the rotating boat lift, as well as free time to explore, before we depart and make our way back to our hotel in time for our evening meal.
Day 3:
After breakfast and a leisurely morning, we depart our hotel and make our way to the Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway to board our afternoon steam train for a 10-mile scenic return journey to Manuel along the Forth Estuary. We’ll travel through woodlands, past waterfalls, and over the Avon viaduct while enjoying an afternoon tea of freshly made sandwiches, cakes, and scones with tea and coffee. After our relaxing afternoon, we return back to our hotel in time for our evening meal.
Day 4:
After breakfast, we depart our hotel for our full day of exploring Loch Lomond, stopping at Antartex Shopping Village for a comfort stop before continuing our journey. We travel up the side of Loch Lomond, taking in the route of the popular TV series “Take the Highroad,” before arriving at the pretty village of Luss for our lunchtime stop. After our free time in Luss, we continue our journey to Tarbet to catch our boat for a “Northern Highlights” tour, sailing over the deepest part of the Loch in the shadow of Ben Lomond. After our cruise, we depart and start to make our way back to the hotel, arriving in time for our evening meal.
Day 5:
After breakfast, we depart our hotel for our tour of the beautiful scenery of the Trossachs National Park. Our journey takes us over the famous Dukes Pass, known for its stunning views, and includes a stop at the picturesque tourist town of Callander. After our visit to Callander, we return back to our hotel with plenty of time to refresh before enjoying our evening meal.
